Lucknow, 28 September 2026: The Regiment of Artillery commemorated the momentous occasion of its 200th Gunners’ Day at Lucknow, celebrating two centuries of valour, sacrifice, professionalism and distinguished service to the Nation.
As part of the commemorative events, Maj Gen Vikramjit Singh Gill, MG Arty, Headquarters Central Command, accompanied by Veterans and senior officers of the Regiment of Artillery, laid a wreath at Smritika War Memorial. The solemn ceremony paid tribute to the brave Gunners who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty and honoured the enduring legacy of generations of Artillerymen who have served the Nation with distinction.
The commemoration also witnessed an interaction of Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta, GOC-in-C, Central Command, with Veterans and All Ranks of the Regiment of Artillery. The Army Commander extended his warm greetings and best wishes to the entire Gunner fraternity on the historic milestone.
During the interaction, Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta lauded the Regiment’s distinguished legacy of courage, professionalism and unwavering commitment to operational excellence. He acknowledged the invaluable contribution of Veterans, whose service, sacrifice and rich experience continue to inspire successive generations of Gunners.
The gathering provided an opportunity for serving personnel and Veterans to reconnect and celebrate the strong bonds of camaraderie that remain a hallmark of the Regiment. The occasion reflected the Regiment of Artillery’s proud heritage and its continued commitment to excellence in the service of the Nation.
The 200th Gunners’ Day stood as a tribute to two centuries of Gunner pride and an enduring legacy defined by its timeless credo, “Sarvatra Izzat-O-Iqbal”.
